Nebraska trip in pictures

Reporter's note: This is the first of two in my trip back to Lincoln, NE, from September, 12, 2019. This one will be photo driven, the next one will be verbal driven.

The seeds of Husker fever are evident the moment you arrive at the Lincoln Airport.
When in Nebraska, you would be remiss not to show pictures of cornfields.
From left to right: me, Jason and Kelly (Jason's father-in-law) enjoying a hearty breakfast on Friday morning at the Engine House.
The capital building in the city of Lincoln, which is the state capital of Nebraska.
Neihardt Hall was my first residence hall when I moved to Lincoln in 1994. I spent the rest of my time at the University of Nebraska at Cather Hall, which no longer exists.
The five National Championships the Nebraska football has won (1971, 1972, 1994, 1995, 1997). ESPN rated the 1971 version No. 1 all-time followed by the 1995 team at No. 2.
Nebraska football has had three Heisman Trophy winners (Johnny Rodgers, 1972; Mike Rozier, 1983; Eric Crouch, 2001).
 Trophies commemorating various bowl victories.
Yours truly standing next to Bob Devaney, who was the pioneer for Nebraska football greatness.
Misty's Restaurant & Lounge is a popular Lincoln establishment, especially on Friday Night's before football games.
As you enter Misty's, a painting of the three most famous Nebraska football coaches. From left to right: Bob Devaney, Frank Solich and Tom Osborne.
Every Friday night before football games, the University of Nebraska pep band performs for the patrons at Misty's.
Misty's serves some of the best age prime rib you will find. Mine went down nicely with a Blue Moon or three.
Herbie Husker took the time to strike a pose with Jason and I.
Since the game against Northern Illinois was a night game, we had several hours to kill so we went to breakfast at Village Inn, another Lincoln hot spot.
Picture of famous comedian Johnny Carson, who is a native of Norfolk, NE, adorns the University of Nebraska student union wall.

Reuniting with yet another old friend as Matt Johns graced us with his presence. The green shirt was because Johns went incognito to surprise us.
Meeting up with more old friends and acquaintances for wings and cold beers at The N Zone. From left to right: Jason Page, Scott Armknecht, Matt Johns, Mike Bowker and yours truly.
Two hours before kickoff, fans line up in droves to get into Memorial Stadium.

The tunnel walk as the band, the coaches and players take the field.

Always a pleasant sight when red balloons get released into the air after the Huskers score a touchdown.

Jason and I took turns throwing the bones as the Blackshirt defense shined.
The fans congratulate quarterback Adrian Martinez and his teammates after the Huskers defeated Northern Illinois going away, 44-8.
